The Rev. Dr. William Danaher, Executive Director

The Rev. Dr. William Danaher is a catalytic leader whose work bridges the worlds of faith, higher education, and community service. As the Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Pastoral Studies (IAPS) and Rector of Christ Church Cranbrook, Fr. Bill is dedicated to building the Beloved Community. With a career spanning prestigious academic appointments and local nonprofit leadership, he brings a deep commitment to quality, care, and the belief that simple, intentional ideas can create a lasting impact.

His academic journey is marked by a deep exploration of ethics and theology, having previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Huron University College and holding faculty positions at General Seminary and the University of the South. Bill holds a Ph.D. from Yale University, an M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary, and an A.B. from Brown University.

A recognized voice in social justice and preaching, he was named Pastor of the Year by the Metropolitan Christian Council of Detroit and Windsor in 2016. Through IAPS, Bill continues his mission to provide ecumenical, diverse, and transformative continuing education for religious leaders.
